Istanbul hosted the world leaders in rubber
Positioned among the leading rubber-processing countries for its production capacity, Turkey served as the home for an international trademark organization. Attended by 250 participants from 18 countries, RubberCon 2018 Istanbul International Rubber Congress took place in Istanbul from 10 to 11 May.
The event organized for the first time by the Rubber Association, a member of IRCO, attracted a great deal of attention from the business and academic world.
Delivering the opening speech for the congress as the Chairman of Rubber Association, Nurhan Kaya stressed that Turkey’s future was dependent on value-added production and said, “Our main objectives include providing the rubber industry with organizations contributing to the national economy with the intent to make the industry have a greater share in the global market.”
Erdal Bahçıvan, Chairman of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI), highlighted to what extent the rubber industry was powerful as he became more familiar with the industry and said, “The representatives of the rubber industry are having great achievements, far exceeding those efforts used by many establishments and industrial organizations. Yet, it is a truly humble industry, and I am extremely delighted to share this achievement at this event.”
